2024 Milestones

2024: A Year Of Growth and Giving

Project 1:

Twenty New Masjids Completed

The landscape of rural communities across multiple continents was transformed as Global Ehsan Relief achieved an unprecedented milestone: twenty new masjids completed in a single year, more than in any previous period in the organization's history. These houses of worship, rising from the fertile fields of Indonesia to the dusty villages of West Africa, represented far more than architectural achievements. Each masjid became a living center of community renewal, with prayer halls complemented by educational spaces, community kitchens, and emergency shelters.

In Pakistan's drought-affected regions, these structures were built with innovative water collection systems that channelled precious rainfall from expansive roofs into underground storage tanks. "Our masjid nurtures both spiritual and physical life," explained a local imam in Multan, gesturing toward children drinking clean water collected during recent rains. The strategic placement of these masjids in underserved areas meant that many worshippers who had previously travelled hours for Friday prayers could now focus that time on family, education, and livelihood.

Project 2:

First GER Masjid in Yemen

Perhaps most significant among these twenty structures was the first GER masjid in Yemen—built despite the logistical challenges of operating in a conflict zone. Working with local builders and using regionally sourced materials, GER constructed not just a place of worship but a symbol of hope in a community that had endured years of hardship. "When buildings all around us have been destroyed," reflected a community elder at the opening ceremony, "the raising of a new masjid reminds us that creation ultimately triumphs over destruction."

The masjid's sturdy walls, designed to withstand potential conflict, sheltered not only worshippers but also a small medical clinic and emergency food distribution center.

Project 3:

Six Million Beneficiaries Supported

As Global Ehsan Relief's programs continued to expand across sectors and regions, the organization announced a staggering achievement: six million beneficiaries supported through its various initiatives. This number, representing nearly double the previous year's reach reflected both the growing scale of humanitarian need worldwide and GER's enhanced capacity to respond effectively. "Each of these six million people has a name, a story, and inherent dignity," emphasised the organization's director during the announcement. "Our growth in numbers must always be matched by our commitment to the quality and sustainability of our interventions."

Project 4:

Over 200 Hybrid Water Wells Implemented

Technical innovation accelerated with the implementation of over 200 Hybrid Water Wells, building on the previous year's pioneering designs with enhanced efficiency and durability. These sophisticated systems combined traditional well construction with solar power, automated pumping, and community management training, ensuring reliable water access even in regions with extreme weather or unstable electricity.

Project 5:

Muslim Boxing Awards

In the United Kingdom, GERUK hosted the inaugural Muslim Boxing Awards, creating a unique platform that celebrated sporting excellence while raising awareness and funds for humanitarian causes. The black-tie gala brought together champions from diverse backgrounds, recognising both professional achievements and community contributions. "Boxing taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of getting up when life knocks you down," shared a medalist during her acceptance speech. "These same values drive humanitarian work in the world's most challenging environments." The event attracted mainstream media coverage, introducing GER's mission to new audiences through the universal language of sport.

The Year In Reflection: 2024

Throughout 2024, as conflicts and climate disasters continued to reshape vulnerable communities worldwide, Global Ehsan Relief demonstrated that growth in scale could be accompanied by deepening impact quality. The organization's expanded network of field offices, technical innovations, and diversified engagement strategies enabled both rapid emergency response and sustained development initiatives—addressing immediate suffering while building resilience against future challenges.
