You Helped Feed The Poor in Cambodia!

This Eid ul-Adha, your sacrifice has provided fresh Qurban meat for thousands of families in need worldwide. Over in Cambodia, you helped feed underprivileged communities and gave them something to smile about on Eid!

A total of six cows and two goats were sacrificed in Cambodia, with our Global Ehsan Relief Cambodia team overseeing the Qurban. As many as 330 families have benefitted from your sacrifice this year!

On the auspicious day of Eid ul-Adha, our Global Ehsan Relief Cambodia team ensured a blessed celebration for the community living in Kouk Roka Village, Battambong Province.

Thanks to your contributions, we were able to sacrifice four cows and one goat, benefitting a total of 180 families! Our team was immensely grateful to share the joys of Eid as each family received 2 kg of fresh meat.

The Qurban meat distribution was carried out near Hajjah Sarya Sarju Mosque at Kouk Roka Village, where it had just been inaugurated. Aside from receiving meat, 350 beneficiaries also received 30 Food Aid Packs, 100 Kindness Day gifts and 44 sets of prayer tools for the grand opening of the mosque.

The next day, in the beautiful village of Koh Sotin, Kampong Province, our team successfully performed Qurban of a cow and a goat, bringing joy to 65 deserving families.

Meanwhile in Khla Krahim Village, Taphem Commune in the Tram Kak District of Takeo Province, 35 needy families received fresh Qurban meat that had been distributed at Muhammad Din Mohammad Mosque.

On the final day, our team successfully completed our Qurban distributions at Ar-Rahim mosque in Chamka Chen Village, Ang Snoul District in Kandal Province. With the help of our generous donors, we were able to slaughter two cows, providing 4 kg of fresh meat to each of the 50 families in need. There at the village, we met the lovely Mdm Rahmah.

Mdm Rahmah, a 67-year-old widow, lives in a rental home in the Kandal province with her widowed daughter and three orphaned grandchildren. She makes between $5 and $7 per day carrying dried fish from house to house on her head in order to support her family. Most days, she does this under hot, unbearable weather. Since she is barely able to support her family with the income she earns, she is forced to live in extreme hardship. Some days, she goes without food in the morning and other times, she goes without food in the evening.

When she received the fresh Qurban meat, she expressed: “Your Qurban is our joy and happiness.” She was ecstatic to receive the meat, a rare protein for her and her family. She planned to cook the beef into a variety of dishes for her grandchildren over the course of about 10 days.

With your Qurban, you have turned Eid into a memorable occasion for families like Mdm Rahmah. The fresh meat is great support for them and their family, allowing them to have wholesome meals, even if it’s for a short while. Alhamdulillah, they were ecstatic to receive it and they value it a great deal.

May Allah S.W.T. shower endless blessings upon all of you who have made this possible.  Let’s extend our deepest prayers and gratitude to all those who brightened this day for our community with their selfless support and generosity, and extend our prayers for all our beneficiaries.
