According to a report by the Syrian Human Rights Network, 1,400 mosques were destroyed between 2011 and 2013, while 13,000 mosques have been destroyed since 2013. This leaves many refugees without proper places of worship, resorting to makeshift tent mosques for prayers and Quranic education, presenting significant challenges. For these refugees, they do not even have a suitable environment to take ablution.
Currently, Global Ehsan Relief is on a mission to build our third mosque in Syria. Darul Ehsan Mosque is a much-needed mosque for the refugee community there. It will be built within the vicinity of GER’s Houses for Syrian Refugees, so that the community will have a place of worship near them. The one-storey mosque will be able to cater to as many as 400-500 congregants at one time. It will also be used as an education centre for the children in the community to learn the Qur’an.
If 1,000 people donated $100 each, we could finish building Darul Ehsan Mosque by December this year.
