45 questions across 6 sections. Here's what's covered:
Section 1 — About Qurban (7 Qs) The fundamentals — what Qurban is, the scholarly difference between wajib and Sunnah Mu'akkadah, how many per household, giving on behalf of the deceased or living, and whether giving through a charity counts as a valid Qurban. This is the "convince the hesitant donor" section.
Section 2 — About the Campaign (7 Qs) Who GER is, all 40 countries listed by region, the Eid date, the order deadline, how GER ensures delivery on Eid day, and the honest explanation of the Amileen principle rather than a misleading "100% to beneficiaries" claim.
Section 3 — Ordering & Payment (7 Qs) Step-by-step ordering process, all payment methods, receipt and confirmation details, multi-package orders, modification and cancellation policy with specific dates, family/deceased dedications, and tax deductibility by country.
Section 4 — Countries, Delivery & Destinations (7 Qs) Why prices differ between countries, the honest Gaza explanation (canned meat), how Rohingya Qurban works, what happens in conflict zones, Makkah Qurban, and the recipient selection process
Section 5 — Special Packages A–H (19 Qs) Every package gets its own dedicated questions — including the logic behind each one, the scholarly basis for Package B, Package A's share limit, Village Qurban's confirmation deadline, Package F name assignment, Package G's three configurations, and the Early Bird terms.
Section 6 — Verification & After Eid (6 Qs) How donors know the Qurban was performed, what to do if the impact report doesn't arrive, GER's delivery guarantee in conflict zones, social media photo policy, post-Eid giving (GEMS, Jumu'ah Giving), and contact details.
Section 1: About Qurban
Understanding the obligation, the Sunnah, and what Qurban means
Qurban — also known as Udhiyah — is the act of sacrificing a permissible animal (goat, sheep, cow, or camel) during the days of Eid Al-Adha, in obedience to Allah's command and in commemoration of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
It is performed on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah (Eid Al-Adha) and the two days following it — the 11th and 12th of Dhul Hijjah — known as the Days of Tashreeq.
Allah says in the Quran: "So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone]." — Quran 108:2
The meat from the Qurban is distributed to three groups: one third to the donor's family, one third to relatives and neighbours, and one third to those in need. When donating through GER, your entire Qurban is allocated to vulnerable families who would otherwise receive nothing.
There is a difference of scholarly opinion on this:
In either position, the scholarly consensus is that any Muslim who is financially able should not allow Eid Al-Adha to pass without performing Qurban.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Whoever has the capacity to offer a sacrifice but does not do so, let him not approach our place of prayer." — Sunan Ibn Majah
GER's Qurban programme allows Muslims to fulfil this obligation or Sunnah on behalf of families in need, across 40 countries simultaneously.
The general scholarly position is that one Qurban (or one share of a cow/camel) is sufficient per household. However, many scholars and households give one per adult member of the family, and this is praiseworthy.
A cow or camel can be shared between up to 7 people, each person's share counting as their individual Qurban. A goat or sheep counts as a Qurban for one person (or one household, according to some scholars).
GER offers both full animals and cow shares, making it easy to give for each member of your family individually.
Yes. It is permissible — and considered a beautiful act of sadaqah jariyah — to give Qurban on behalf of a deceased parent, spouse, or loved one.
The intention (niyyah) is made during the ordering process. You may specify at checkout that the Qurban is on behalf of a named deceased individual.
Many scholars base this on the practice of the Prophet ﷺ, who sacrificed one ram for himself and his household, and another on behalf of members of his Ummah — including those who had passed away. This is also the basis of GER's Prophetic Qurban (Package B).
Yes. It is permissible to give Qurban as a gift on behalf of a living person — a parent, spouse, child, or friend. This is considered an act of generosity and is widely practised.
When ordering through GER, you can specify during checkout that the Qurban is being given on behalf of a named individual. GER will record the intention accordingly.
Yes. The majority of contemporary scholars, including major Islamic bodies such as Darul Ifta institutions in Egypt, Malaysia, the UK, and South Africa, have confirmed that authorising a trustworthy charity to perform Qurban on your behalf — in another country if necessary — is fully valid.
The key conditions are: (1) the donor makes a clear intention (niyyah) before paying, (2) a valid animal is sacrificed within the days of Tashreeq (10th–12th Dhul Hijjah), and (3) the meat reaches those in genuine need.
GER fulfils all three conditions across all 40 countries in our programme. Our field teams perform the Qurban on Eid day and distribute the meat to verified vulnerable families.
GER's Qurban programme uses three types of animals — all of which are permissible (halal) for sacrifice:
All animals used in GER's programme meet the Islamic requirements: they are of the correct age (goats at least 1 year, cows at least 2 years, camels at least 5 years), free from major defects, and handled in a manner compliant with Islamic slaughter requirements.
Section 2: About GER Qurban Relief 2026
Campaign details, coverage, targets, and how GER operates
GER Qurban Relief 2026 is Global Ehsan Relief's annual Qurban campaign for Eid Al-Adha 1447 / 27 May 2026. It is our largest Qurban campaign to date, covering 40 countries across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The campaign gives donors the ability to direct their Qurban to specific countries or themed giving packages — from a single $55 cow share in India to sponsoring an entire village of 80+ families in rural Africa.
Our 2026 targets are 20,000 Qurban orders and $2,000,000 in total giving, with all orders fulfilled on Eid day by GER's verified ground teams.
Global Ehsan Relief is an international Islamic humanitarian organisation founded in 2015. We operate across 30+ countries with offices in Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Indonesia, Palestine, and Yemen.
GER delivers humanitarian aid, orphan sponsorship, education support, clean water projects, and seasonal campaigns — including Qurban, Ramadan food aid, and Zakat distribution — to vulnerable communities worldwide.
We are registered and regulated in our operating jurisdictions and have been running Qurban programmes since our founding. Our field teams operate year-round in all countries where we deliver Qurban, meaning we do not parachute in for Eid — we are already there.
GER Qurban Relief 2026 covers 40 countries across three regions:
Asia (10 countries):
Middle East (6 countries):
Africa (24 countries):
Note: Country availability may vary. Check our website for the most current list. Some countries are featured in specific packages only.
Eid Al-Adha 1447 falls on Wednesday 27 May 2026. This is subject to moon sighting confirmation in each country.
GER's order deadline is 26 May 2026 (Yawm Arafah — the 9th of Dhul Hijjah). This allows our field teams to complete all preparations before Eid morning.
All Qurban orders placed before 26 May will be performed on Eid day (27 May) or during the Days of Tashreeq (28–29 May) in accordance with Islamic guidelines and logistical requirements in each country.
The order deadline is 26 May 2026 (Yawm Arafah) at midnight (12:00AM, 27 May, Malaysian time GMT+8).
This deadline is firm and non-negotiable. It exists because our field teams require confirmed orders before they can finalise animal procurement, logistics, and Eid-day distribution across 40 countries.
Orders placed after the deadline cannot be processed for Eid 2026 and will be refunded. We strongly recommend ordering well in advance — the campaign opens 14 April.
GER has permanent or long-standing field partnerships in all 40 countries in our programme. This means our teams are already on the ground before Eid — not arriving at the last minute.
Our process:
Donors receive confirmation and field photos within 14 days of Eid.
GER operates its Qurban programme using the Amileen (administrative) principle, which is one of the eight categories of Zakat recipients mentioned in the Quran (Surah Al-Tawbah, 9:60). This allows GER to take a modest administrative fee to cover operational costs — including field staff, logistics, verification, and reporting.
Rather than claiming a '100% donation policy' (which would be misleading — all organisations have costs), GER is transparent: the vast majority of your Qurban contribution goes directly to animal procurement and distribution. A small administrative portion covers the cost of getting it there reliably.
For full transparency on our cost breakdown, please contact us at [email protected].
Section 3: Ordering & Payment
How to order, payment methods, receipts, and modifications
Ordering is simple and takes under 3 minutes:
If you need help selecting a package or have a specific request, contact our team at [email protected] or via WhatsApp (+65 8678 6850).
GER accepts the following payment methods for Qurban 2026:
All online transactions are processed through a secure, SSL-encrypted payment gateway. GER does not store your card details.
For corporate or large orders, please contact our team directly for invoice and bank transfer arrangements.
Yes. You will receive an automated order confirmation email immediately after completing your payment. This email includes:
If you do not receive a confirmation email within 15 minutes of ordering, please check your spam folder. If it is not there, contact us at [email protected] with your full name and payment details.
Yes. You can order multiple packages, multiple country options, and multiple quantities in a single checkout session. For example, you can order:
All items can be added to a single cart and paid for in one transaction.
If you are ordering a Village Qurban (Package E — $2,500 to $10,000) as part of a larger order, we recommend contacting our team directly to coordinate the transaction.
Modifications are possible up until 19 May 2026 (one week before the deadline). To modify your order — for example, to change the country, package, or name on the Qurban — please email [email protected] with your order reference number and the requested change.
Cancellations and refunds are processed in accordance with GER's Refund Policy:
For urgent queries, contact us at [email protected] or WhatsApp (+65 8678 6850).
GER does not facilitate requests to donate to specific named individuals or households, as our distribution is managed at the community level by our field teams.
However, for Village Qurban Sponsorship (Package E), donors can request a specific country from the available options (Uganda, Senegal, Malawi, or Mozambique) and GER will designate a specific village for their sponsorship, providing GPS location details and community name in the impact report.
For all other packages, GER's field teams identify and prioritise the most vulnerable families in each region using established need-assessment criteria.
Tax deductibility depends on your country of residence and GER's registered status in that jurisdiction:
GER provides a formal receipt for all donations. For specific tax documentation requirements, please contact [email protected].
Section 4: Countries, Delivery & Specific Destinations
Country-specific questions, Gaza, Rohingya, pricing, and logistics
GER selects Qurban countries based on three criteria: (1) the severity of food insecurity and humanitarian need in that country, (2) GER's existing operational presence or trusted partner network on the ground, and (3) the ability to perform Qurban reliably on Eid day with proper documentation.
Countries are reviewed each year. In 2026, GER expanded its programme to 40 countries — our largest reach to date — following the establishment of new field partnerships in West and Central Africa.
Our 'Most Needed' category highlights countries where the combination of crisis, poverty, and lack of international donor attention make every Qurban order especially impactful: Yemen, Rohingya communities, Sudan, Somalia/Somaliland, and Afghanistan.
Qurban prices vary by country for several legitimate reasons:
GER does not add a profit margin to Qurban prices. The prices published represent the actual cost of procuring and distributing the animal in that country, plus GER's administrative contribution.
Yes — GER offers a Gaza Qurban. However, due to the ongoing blockade of Gaza, fresh Qurban meat cannot be delivered into the territory on Eid day.
GER's Gaza Qurban takes the form of certified halal, sealed canned Qurban meat, procured from verified halal-certified suppliers and distributed by GER's partner teams inside Gaza to vulnerable families.
We understand this is not the conventional form of Qurban delivery. We are committed to transparency: when you give Gaza Qurban through GER, you are giving halal-certified meat to families inside Gaza who would otherwise receive nothing. Our field partners document every distribution.
Gaza Qurban is available as part of Package G (Qurban Across 3 Continents — Configuration 2: Cambodia + Niger + Gaza, $555). It is not available as a standalone purchase due to the procurement model required.
GER's Rohingya Qurban primarily serves Rohingya refugee communities in Bangladesh (the Cox's Bazar region, home to the world's largest refugee camp) and in selected communities in Malaysia.
When you order Rohingya Qurban through GER, your donation reaches stateless Rohingya families who have no legal right to work, no formal income, and no ability to purchase Qurban independently. GER's field teams distribute directly inside the camps and communities.
Rohingya Qurban is also available as part of Package C — Qurban for Refugees (Yemen + Rohingya, $390)
GER operates in a number of conflict-affected and fragile states (Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, etc.). Our operational model in these countries accounts for this risk:
GER has successfully delivered Qurban in Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia for multiple consecutive years. Our track record in these countries is strong.
Yes. Qurban in Makkah (performed through authorised channels at the Grand Mosque abattoir or official Hajj sacrifice system) is available as part of Package G — Qurban Across 3 Continents, Configuration 1 (Sri Lanka + Makkah + Malawi, $465).
Performing Qurban in Makkah is considered especially virtuous by many scholars, given its sacred status. GER facilitates this through our licensed Saudi partner for the 2026 season.
Note: standalone Makkah Qurban is not available. It is offered exclusively as part of Package G.
For standard country-level orders, GER's field teams select the recipients based on established vulnerability criteria — families with the greatest need, including widows, orphan households, and the disabled.
For Village Qurban Sponsorship (Package E), donors receive a named village, GPS coordinates, and a community profile — giving a specific and documented connection to the community their Qurban serves.
GER does not accommodate requests to direct Qurban to specific named individuals in any country, as this would undermine our community-based distribution methodology.
Section 5: Special Packages A–H
Detailed questions about each of GER's 8 curated Qurban packages
GER Qurban Relief 2026 features 8 specially curated giving packages in addition to our standard country-by-country options. Each package is designed around a specific giving intention, community, or scope of impact.
| Code | Package Name | Price | What it covers |
| A | Qurban For Orphans | $125 / share | GER-sponsored orphans in Aceh (Indonesia) + Sri Lanka |
| B | Prophetic Qurban | $230 or $410 | Extra Qurban for the Ummah — 2 goats, 2 countries |
| C | Qurban For Refugees | $390 | Yemen + Rohingya — 2 goats, 2 communities |
| D | 5-in-1 Special | $585 or $675 | 5 goats across 5 of the world's most food-insecure nations |
| E | Village Qurban Sponsorship | $2,500–$10,000 | Feed an entire village — 20, 40 or 80+ families |
| F | Family Qurban Package | $300–$515 | Multiple Qurban across multiple countries in one order |
| G | Qurban Across 3 Continents | $465–$1,935 | Asia, Africa and the Middle East — three configurations |
| H | India Cows Early Bird | $1,055 (until 3 May) | 3 Full India Cows — save $100 on the bundle price |
Package A — Qurban For Orphans
Package A is a specially ringfenced Qurban allocation for GER's sponsored orphan communities in Aceh, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. These are children and families already supported by GER's year-round orphan care programme.
Unlike our standard Qurban deliveries (which go to communities identified by need), Package A goes exclusively to these known, documented orphan households — families GER's teams know by name.
One cow share ($125) is allocated per participating household, and each share feeds approximately 10 families in the community.
GER has identified that 15 full cows (= 105 cow shares) is the quantity needed to provide Qurban to all orphan households in our two supported communities in Aceh and Sri Lanka this Eid.
Once all 105 shares are claimed, Package A closes — regardless of whether the broader campaign deadline (26 May) has passed. This ensures we don't oversell and then under-deliver to the community.
If you try to order Package A and it shows as sold out, please consider directing your giving to another package. The orphan communities will still receive their Qurban from shares already sold.
Yes. Package A — like all GER Qurban packages — can be given on behalf of another person, living or deceased. During checkout, you will be prompted to enter the name of the person on whose behalf the Qurban is being given.
Many donors order Package A as a gift for a parent, a recently passed loved one, or a child in their family — aligning the Qurban with both the Ummah's orphans and a personal dedication.
Package B — Prophetic Qurban
Package B is inspired by an authentic narration in Sunan Abu Dawud, in which the Prophet Muhammad SAW is described as sacrificing two rams — one on behalf of himself and his household, and the other on behalf of any member of his Ummah who bore witness to Tawhid but could not afford a Qurban.
This second sacrifice — given freely for the Ummah — is what Package B replicates. It is an extra Qurban, above and beyond the obligatory or standard household Qurban, directed to communities in acute need.
Giving Package B does not replace your household Qurban. It is an additional act of giving, following the example of the Prophet SAW.
Package B offers two country configurations:
Both options deliver 2 goats to 2 different communities. The choice depends on your personal connection to a region or your budget. There is no scholarly difference in reward between the two options.
Package C — Qurban For Refugees
Package C — Qurban for Refugees — directs one goat to a family in Yemen and one goat to a Rohingya refugee family (in Bangladesh/Malaysia).
In Yemen, GER's field teams identify families in the most conflict-affected governorates — prioritising households headed by widows, families with young children, and households with no formal income.
In the Rohingya communities, GER distributes to families inside the registered refugee camps or to Rohingya households in Malaysia with documented stateless status.
The total cost is $390 — which includes $205 for the Yemen goat and $185 for the Rohingya goat.
| Absolutely. Package C is designed as an additional act of giving — it is not a substitute for your household Qurban. Many donors order both their standard household Qurban and Package C simultaneously.
Think of Package C as your sadaqah component of Eid — giving Eid to the two communities who need it most, in addition to your obligatory or Sunnah Qurban for your own household. |
Package D — 5-in-1 Special
Yes. In both configurations of Package D, GER distributes exactly one full goat to one family in each of the five listed countries — giving a total of 5 goats across 5 countries in one order.
The price difference between options reflects variation in local livestock costs across the two configurations.
You do not need to specify which family receives the goat in each country — GER's field teams manage recipient selection based on vulnerability criteria in each location.
Package D was designed to spotlight nations that receive very little international Qurban attention. While countries like Yemen and Rohingya receive significant donor awareness, nations like Mali, Gambia, Niger, and Zambia are equally food-insecure but rarely appear in Qurban campaigns.
GER's expanded Africa network in 2026 allows us to reliably serve these communities for the first time or at greater scale. Package D is our way of ensuring these overlooked nations receive Eid — and giving donors a way to be part of that.
Package E — Village Qurban Sponsorship
When you sponsor a village through Package E, GER allocates the full number of goats specified in your package to a single rural community — rather than distributing individual animals across multiple households in different locations.
This means: one donor, one village, a complete community Eid. Every family in that village receives Qurban meat. The village is selected by GER's field team based on being entirely underserved by other Qurban providers.
Package sizes:
Every Village Qurban sponsor receives a comprehensive post-Eid package:
For corporate and institutional donors, GER can also provide a proposal document and formal tax receipt for CSR documentation purposes.
Yes. Village Qurban is ideal for groups giving jointly — extended families, mosque communities, corporate teams, or friends contributing together. GER can accommodate group payments via bank transfer or multiple card transactions.
The village sponsorship certificate and recognition will reflect all named contributors if required. Contact us at [email protected] - [email protected]/ [email protected] or WhatsApp (+65 8678 6850 )to arrange a group village sponsorship.
Yes. All Village Qurban sponsorships must be confirmed by 21 May 2026 — 6 days before Eid. This is earlier than the general campaign deadline (26 May) because our field teams need additional lead time to coordinate village-level procurement and logistics.
After 21 May, GER cannot guarantee Eid-day delivery for Village Qurban orders. Please act early if you are considering this package.
Package F — Family Qurban Package
Package F offers three configurations designed for different family giving levels:
All three options count as valid Qurban for the individuals named in the order.
Yes. During checkout, you can specify the name and intention for each individual Qurban within the package. For example, in Option F2 (4 cow shares), you can assign each share to a different family member.
GER will record all names and intentions and include them in the order confirmation. This is especially meaningful for donors who want to give each member of their household their own personalised Qurban.
Package G — Qurban Across 3 Continents
Package G offers three configurations based on animal type:
Gaza Qurban within Package G is delivered as certified halal, sealed canned meat — see the full Gaza FAQ in Section 4 for details.
When you order Package G Configuration 2 ($555), you are giving a cow share each to a family in Cambodia, a family in Niger, and a Gaza family via the canned Qurban distribution. All three are documented and photographed.
The Makkah Qurban in Package G Configuration 1 is facilitated through GER's licensed Saudi partner, who performs the sacrifice within the authorised abattoir system in the Makkah region.
This is considered valid and praiseworthy by scholars — the animal is slaughtered in Makkah by an authorised agent on your behalf. The meat is distributed to poor and vulnerable families in the Makkah area.
Makkah Qurban is available exclusively as part of Package G Configuration 1, not as a standalone order.
Package H — India Cows Early Bird Special
Package H — the India Cows Early Bird Special — offers 3 Full India Cows for $1,055, a saving of $100 off the standard price of $1,155 (3 × $385).
This offer is exclusively available to early supporters and is valid from 14 April 2026 until 3 May 2026 at midnight. There are no exceptions and no extensions to this deadline.
After 3 May, India Full Cows remain available individually at $385 each — but the discounted three-cow bundle at $1,055 will no longer be offered.
The Early Bird price of $1,055 applies to the three-cow bundle only. Individual India Full Cows are priced at $385 each — available throughout the campaign.
If you want two cows, the price would be $770 (2 × $385). If you want three, the Early Bird bundle at $1,055 saves you $100.
Alternatively, if you want fewer than a full cow, India Cow Shares are available at $55 each (1 share = 1/7 of a cow) throughout the campaign
The Early Bird offer serves two purposes:
India is one of our most popular Qurban destinations due to the combination of high volume, affordable pricing, and established GER ground operations. The Early Bird bundle is designed to make it even more accessible for committed donors.
Section 6: Verification, Impact & After Eid
Proof of delivery, impact reports, photos, and post-campaign giving
GER provides post-Eid verification to all donors within 14 days of Eid Al-Adha. Verification includes:
Village Qurban sponsors (Package E) receive an individual village-level impact report including GPS coordinates, community name, number of families, and a personalised photo gallery.
GER does not provide photos of individual named families for privacy and safeguarding reasons — but country and community-level documentation is comprehensive.
If you have not received your impact report within 14 days of Eid (by approximately 10 June 2026), please contact us at [email protected] with your order reference number.
Reports for countries with complex logistics (Yemen, Sudan, Gaza) may take up to 21 days due to communication and documentation challenges in those environments.
All donors will receive at minimum an email confirmation that their Qurban was performed — even in the most logistically difficult locations.
GER has a strong track record of Qurban delivery in all countries in our programme, including Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, and Afghanistan. We do not include a country in our programme unless we have a reliable, verified partner with active operations on the ground.
However, in rare and exceptional circumstances — a sudden escalation of conflict, a border closure, or an event that makes our field team's safety untenable — GER reserves the right to reallocate Qurban funds to the nearest equivalent country of need.
In such an event, affected donors will be contacted directly and offered either a reallocation (to a similarly urgent country) or a full refund. This has occurred in less than 1% of our Qurban history.
Yes. GER shares Eid-day and post-Eid field photography across our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) as part of our impact reporting and donor transparency practice.
All individuals featured in GER's social media posts have given informed consent (or consent has been obtained through GER's community partner agreements). We do not share images of minors without parental/guardian consent.
For Village Qurban sponsors who have opted in to co-branding, GER will tag the sponsor's social media accounts in the relevant posts.
GER runs several ongoing giving programmes that allow you to extend the spirit of your Eid generosity throughout the year:
To join any of these programmes, visit globalehsanrelief.org or contact us at [email protected].
Yes. GER has run a Qurban programme every year since 2015 and intends to continue expanding it annually. Qurban 2027 will launch approximately 6 weeks before Eid Al-Adha 1448.
If you would like to be notified when Qurban 2027 opens, subscribe to GER's mailing list at globalehsanrelief.org or follow us on social media. Donors who participated in 2026 will receive priority early notification.
We also encourage donors to consider joining GEMS (monthly giving) so that GER's programmes — including next year's Qurban preparations — are supported year-round.
We are happy to help with any questions not covered in this FAQ.
