A powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake has struck offshore from Flores in Indonesia's Nusa Tenggara Timur region, leaving homes destroyed and thousands of families displaced. Children, women, and the elderly are now sheltering in evacuation centres and exposed areas, with urgent needs for food, clean water, shelter, and medical assistance. Aftershocks continue, putting already vulnerable communities at further risk.
According to the latest disaster management data, the earthquake has left 56 people dead, 277 injured, and 11,675 people displaced, with 1,528 households affected. Over 4,674 homes have been damaged, along with hundreds of schools, health facilities, and places of worship.
