With great humility, we invite you to join us in our Mosque Building Project in Aceh, Indonesia. We have partnered with Global Ehsan Relief to bring this project to life. Together, we aim to create a sacred space that will serve as a legacy of love and devotion in a region still healing from the devastation of the 2004 tsunami. When envisioning this project, it was important for us and our donors to have the chance to visit the mosque in the future. Given Indonesia’s proximity, we decided to focus our efforts there.

In Islam, it is said that building a mosque is a means of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), offering endless blessings to donors, their loved ones, and the community for generations.

“When a man passes away, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah, knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him.” – Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Project Overview: 

• Location: Aceh, Indonesia
• Size of Mosque: Approximately 150 square meters
• Facilities: Prayer Hall, 2 x Toilets, 1 Wudu’/Ablution Area
• Capacity: 250 worshippers
• Total Cost of Mosque: SGD 34,000
• Prayer Slots Available for Purchase: 250
• Cost Per Prayer Slot: SGD 136
• Timeline: After the total sum has been fundraised, the mosque will be built approximately within 12 months. Please kindly note that this is an estimated timeline from Global Ehsan Relief, and that the timeline may be subjected to changes given any unforeseen circumstances. Please be assured that you will receive timely updates from us.
• Opportunity to Visit: Upon completion of the mosque, we will arrange a visit to the mosque – you may wish to join us (at your own cost) or arrange a trip on your own (address will be provided upon request), so that you are able to witness the impact of your generosity, InshaAllah.

Each contribution of a slot (SGD 136) includes: 

• Your name or a loved one’s name engraved on a plaque that will be placed inside the mosque.
• Regular updates with photos, videos and progress reports.
• E-certificate upon completion.
• Blessings (barakah) for years to come, InshaAllah.

• A donation of 1 slot = 1 name = SGD 136. If you wish to purchase more than one slot, please ensure your payment matches the total amount for the desired number of slots (e.g., 2 slots = 2 names = SGD 272).
• Email proof of payment and name(s) for plaque to [email protected] (Subject: Mosque Building – Proof of Payment).
• Any donation amount is gratefully welcomed for the overall construction of the mosque if the cost of a prayer slot is not feasible for you. Kindly note: Engraving of names will only be available upon purchase of a prayer slot (e.g., SGD 136 = 1 slot = 1 name).

About Alam’s Giftbox

In April 2021, Alam’s Giftbox (@alamsgiftbox) was launched in Singapore to honour and continue our late father’s legacy of charitable acts. Expanding its reach, Alam’s Giftbox launched in Australia (@alamsgiftbox_au) in April 2023. Through the sale of our giftboxes, 100% of profits are donated to the Meqsud Alam Legacy Fund, named after our father. By the end of 2024, we are so grateful to share that we have donated more than SGD 25,000 to support more than 50 charitable causes across the globe.

Collectively, these contributions have funded a variety of impactful initiatives, including the construction of water wells, sponsoring the education of orphans, providing solar lighting, restoring eyesight, offering iftar meals, and delivering food and water aid. We have also supported communities from infants to the elderly to those who have been affected by natural disasters and conflict, empowered single mothers through employment opportunities, and provided psychosocial support, among many other initiatives.
