Clean Water Campaign by Anya Meals

This is Jayina from Anya Meals. I am so excited to share that together with Global Ehsan Relief, we have started another fundraiser in this month of Muharram to provide an access to clean water for the needy in two regions, Sri Lanka and Cambodia.

2.3 billion people around the world do not have access to clean water. That is 408 times the population of Singapore.

Many live in rural areas and spend hours walking daily to collect water for their family. In 8 out of 10 households, women and children are the ones collecting water for their families which means they are kept out of school. On top of that, the water collected often are not sanitary and carry diseases that make them sick. Diarrhoea is the 4th top leading cause of death in children before the age of 5.

So let’s change this. An access to a basic need like clean water means education, income and health, especially for women and children. Change this, and in Shaa Allah we can change everything.
